This is a unique proprietary ceramic product that we have worked with for decades, resulting in a red-fired ceramic body. It is a premium-quality domestic clay that has become one of the signature materials offered by Tierra de Barro.

This clay is designed for low-temperature firing and is an excellent choice for beginner ceramic artists. To achieve its characteristic red color, it must be fired between 800 and 900 °C. If left to air dry for several days, it will retain its brown color.

Thanks to its high plasticity, it is ideal for hand-building, wheel-throwing, and pressing techniques, allowing the creation of pieces up to approximately 40 cm in size.

One of the unique characteristics of this clay is that it develops excellent hardness when left to dry naturally in ambient conditions. However, firing is required to achieve its maximum strength and durability.

This material can be used to create kitchenware such as cups, plates, spoons, and similar items. However, it is not suitable for cookware exposed to direct flame, such as casseroles, cooking pots, and similar vessels.

The clay comes hand-kneaded, ready to model, and of exceptional quality. It is supplied in a very soft condition to maximize workability and plasticity. If a firmer consistency is desired, simply allow it to dry for a period of time until the desired hardness is achieved. If a softer consistency is required, add water.

We recommend using approximately 500 grams of clay per person to create a small piece.

Because the clay is supplied already kneaded, maintaining its moisture content is important. Once the package has been opened, it is recommended to add a small amount of water before resealing the bag. When rehydrated, the clay returns to its original workable state.

This material is ideal for modeling and is widely used in a variety of applications. Our customers use it for projects ranging from sculptures to classroom crafts, workshops, and even rehabilitation activities.

Once air-dried, pieces can be decorated with paints such as watercolors, expanding their creative possibilities. Until fired, the clay remains reusable.

Our products are non-toxic. When rehydrated, the clay becomes workable again. It can be used with wheel-throwing, pressing, and hand-building techniques.

The final color may vary between the raw clay and the fired piece and may differ from the images shown. It is important to allow the piece to dry completely before firing. A drying period of 24 to 72 hours is recommended.

This is not a polymer clay or an air-dry clay that permanently hardens without firing. To achieve permanent hardness and durability, the piece must be fired.
