This is a unique ceramic product that we have worked with for decades, resulting in a red-fired ceramic body.

It is a premium-quality domestic clay that has become one of the signature materials offered by Tierra de Barro.

To achieve its red color, the clay must be fired to 800 °C. If left to air dry for several days, it will retain a slightly greenish-brown color.

This clay has low plasticity and is not recommended for crafts or hand-building projects because it is not suitable for modeling. It develops low hardness when air-dried. To achieve maximum strength and durability, firing is required.

This clay is not suitable for cookware exposed to direct flame, such as casseroles or cooking pots, as the finished ceramic body does not withstand direct fire.

For use, it is recommended to mix the clay with water until a workable clay body is obtained. Detailed usage instructions are included with the product.

The clay is specifically formulated for press-molding applications. It is supplied as a fine powder with a texture similar to talcum powder. Once mixed with water, it is important to maintain proper moisture content. To extend its working life, store it in a sealed plastic bag.

This material is ideal for press-molding techniques, as its formulation makes it highly suitable for casting and production processes. It is not intended for hand modeling, as pieces formed this way are likely to develop cracks during drying.

The product is designed for manufacturing consistent, high-quality ceramic pieces in series production. Once incorporated into your ceramic workflow, it becomes an excellent material for a wide range of production applications.

Our products are non-toxic, allowing the creation of items such as cups and plates without concerns related to harmful substances. This clay is intended for use with press-molding techniques.

The final color may vary between the raw clay and the fired piece and may differ from the images shown. It is important to allow the piece to dry completely before firing. A drying period of 24 to 72 hours is recommended.

This is not a polymer clay or an air-dry clay that permanently hardens without firing. To achieve permanent hardness and durability, the piece must be fired. Until it is fired, the clay remains reusable.
