This is a proprietary ceramic product that we have developed and refined over decades, resulting in a melon-colored fired ceramic body. It is made from a blend of high-quality domestic and imported clays, creating a distinctive material offered exclusively by Tierra de Barro.

To achieve its melon color, the clay must be fired between 900 and 1050 °C. If left to air dry for several days, it will retain a greenish-brown color.

This clay offers high plasticity, making it suitable for creating detailed pieces and medium-sized forms up to approximately 40 cm.

When air-dried, it develops moderate hardness; however, firing is recommended to achieve maximum strength and durability.

This material can be used to create kitchenware such as cups, plates, spoons, and similar items. However, it is not suitable for cookware exposed to direct flame, such as casseroles, cooking pots, and similar vessels.

It is an ideal material for modeling and is widely used in a variety of applications. Our customers use it for projects ranging from sculptures to classroom crafts, workshops, and even rehabilitation activities.

Once air-dried, pieces can be decorated with paints such as watercolors, expanding their creative possibilities.

Our products are non-toxic. When rehydrated, the clay becomes workable again. It can be used with wheel-throwing, pressing, and hand-building techniques. We recommend using approximately 500 grams of clay per person to create a small piece.

The final color may vary between the raw clay and the fired piece and may differ from the images shown. It is important to allow the piece to dry completely before firing. A drying period of 24 to 72 hours is recommended.

This is not a polymer clay or an air-dry clay that permanently hardens without firing. To achieve permanent hardness and durability, the piece must be fired. Until it is fired, the clay remains reusable.
